  1. I'm 50, and had a car wreck a cpl yrs ago. I now have six screws and a
strap in my hip socket and the top of my femur. I weigh 225. I need to
exercise. I have ran some, if you can call it that. Don't worry, I take it
easy. I know running may not be the best choice, but I like it well enough
and I have a 2 yr old german shepard that likes to run with.

I've got some worn out running shoes and need a new pair. I had a pr of
asics once and really liked them.

I guess my question is are they a good shoe for my weight or is there a
better one. I also have a wide foot. any insight appreciated.

This will probably rub a few wrong but "no" I won't go to the high end
running shoe store for an expert fit. just asking for some general advice
    here.

    Thanks

No need to go to your high end running shoe store and pay $10 extra,
when we here can tell you what's best.

In fact, yes, Asics are just right for you. Any model, size 11.5. You
might consider the EE width but your feet will - just barely, if you
stick with thin socks - do OK with the standard D width too.

If you end up losing 25 pounds, you may switch to Brooks. Again, any
model. Another 40 pounds later, move to Nikes. Definitely get the
Nikes in a EE width for those hooves of yours. We've seen what happens
when you wear too narrow a shoe. You remember, don't you?

And whatever you do, don't get anything orange; it won't go with those
clothes you generally wear running (which we'll put off discussing only
    because you didn't ask).

PS: your dog is really getting tired of the chicken flavor - he'd be
    much happier with the lamb

Why? You don't have to spend any money to do that.

Anyway, if you are going to just go for general advice,
I would suggest you go online and do a little bit of research.
Based on the fact that you are somewhat heavy, I'd think
of looking for a moderate stability shoe from a well-known
company at the very least, be it New Balance, Asics, Saucony,
etc. - but you will only be making vague guesses without
    trying them out first.

Just go to the running store - if you enjoy the activity as you
mentioned, it makes sense to wear shoes that are less likely to
injure you, and more likely to help you enjoy running even more.

    cheers,

No idea who that "Rebecchi" guy is, but if he owns Roadrunner, he's doing
    better than I am (-;

  8. I wear a 10.5 EEE and the Asic GT-2100 are great fitting and give me the
support I need. I have a slight overpronation and flat feet and these
are the best I have tried so far. Did my first marathon in a pair on
Thanksgiving and they held up great.

  10. we can't see your feet, we can't see your body, and we can't observe
your gait. so go ahead and get your advice here and see what you get
when you get injured because you wanted to save $10.

  11. you actually managed to "blow it"....congratulations.

that shoe doesn't entirely suck...but it's not for you...it's for
runners with (per RRS, medium build and no known running problems).
    That's not you.

with all the [censored] you said?..the shoe for you to start with is the NB
991, WIDE. that's the no brainer choice. it's proven, one of the very
most purchased running shoes in history....and not an annual [censored] shoot
    of a shoe.

The latest model 2110 although 2100 will be cheaper if your size is
    available.
