I went to my doctor yesterday to talk about most recent labs and he
diagnosed me as hypothyroid. He said this could be why it has been next to
impossible for me to lose weight. He put me on a low dose of Levothyroxine
and we'll see if that makes any difference. This might also explain my mood
swings, depression, fatigue, low energy, constant sore throat and some hair
loss. If this works I should be a completely different new person!! LOL

Your problem is that you eat too much and don't do enough exercise.

You can't gain weight without eating too much.
I don't expect you to understand this basic premise.

LOLMade a heck of a lot of difference to me, sorting the thyroxine out. Hope it
works as well for you! I don't recognise your sore throat symptom, but all
the rest improved for me.Nicky.

why can't THAT be my problem at least for awhile! :-)i have a friend who was hypothyroid and was over medicated with Synthroid
and now she is very, very thin. She can't seem to get the right dose.
There used to be this Osteopath that worked over in Hudson Wisconsin that
would give fen-phen, synthroid, lasix, and fiber pills to anyone that would
show up 1xmonth and pay $60. it didn't matter if you were hypothyroid or
not?I wonder if he is still in business?

the order for the test. I remember it took a few months to settle on a
dosage and get better. I ended up settling on 25mcg and have held
stable there for mny years.A note on target carb levels and hypothyroid - There are studies
showing that if you go too low in carb your T3 starts falling around
week
3. Not what someone hypothyroid wants. So make sure you don't
delay even one day moving up through OWL on schedule until you
find your CCLL by falling out of ketosis. Then back down a bit to be
back into ketosis losing. This key idea of Atkins, that the best loss
is in ketosis but as high in carbs as you can and still be in ketosis
to avoid starvation mode defenses, it applies even more to us hypo
folks. -

No, no change in my skin tone. But my skin has been extremely dry and I
read that can be part of being hypothyroid. -
