The nutty vegetarians are at it again

statistic is correct, it doesn't show that eliminating these products
will save much, if any energy, as there is no comparison to any
alternative foods. Last time I checked it still takes energy to grow,
manufacture, refrigerate and transport tofu too. But it does show the
desperation of these whackos. They will try to use any angle to
advance their cause.

I'd be curious if anyone sees this same letter in their local papers
this time too.

Was it a form letter? That living' la vida low carb guy pointed out that
many of these are just fill in the blank form letters. Many of the
anti-Atkins letters are the exact same letters with different names.

We should all work on discrediting these people.

I suspect that these people have brain deficiencies associated
with
the lack of a proper diet. :-)

The thing that always puzzled me about the far-out vegetarians is the
question of what do they think would happen to all of the food animals if
the populace no longer ate meat? Do they think people would keep around
herds of cattle because cattle are cute? Do they think chicken farmers would
continue to feed chicken because they just like birds?

What would happen if suddenly people were competing with animals for grains
and vegetables? And how would these vegetarians feed their companion pets
such as cats and dogs who are carnivores? It seems to me that vegetarians
pushing for elimination of meat from our diets have not thought this through
to its logical end.

Some of them don't believe that dogs and cats are natural
carnivores and feed them vegetarian diets. Frankly, they
don't do well.

we should write form letters to the editor as well. Make it easy to do.
Maybe, eventually, the editors of the papers' letters page will stop
printing form letters.
