Coventry Eagle was a reputable quality brand until it was taken over by
Falcon cycles and repositioned at the lower end of the bike market. Falcon
cycles have survived www.falconcycles.co.uk. They might be able to help
you.

Coventry Eagle used to be a good make but by 1985 they were part of
Falcon Cycles and at the bottom end of their range, which itself was
pretty low end, and living on its historical reputation. Don't think
you have anything there worth anything but YMMV.

Cycles and at the bottom end of their range, which itself was pretty low
end, and living on its historical reputation. Don't think you have
anything there worth anything but YMMV.

I acquired a Coventry Eagle Ladies frame from the mid 70s for my wife - the
LBS man that sold me a few bits (and dated the frame) agreed with Tony's
comments - excellent in it's day (pre about 1980) but then went to the dogs
under Falcon

Cor!!! That means my station hack is a half-decent bike by accident ? I
find that it rides well, but just put that down to my adapting to it over
the years than the other way round.

Its a Coventry Eagle of circa 1977. Originally a 10 speed, with dropped bars
and mudguards. Now flat bars and 21 speed using cast-off bits from various
other bikes.
btw, V-brake blocks and flat-bar levers mean the old Weinmann (cast alloy
rather than pressed) side-pull brakes now stop the thing in the wet !

Going off topic slightly, I saw a Coventry Eagle tandem on a roof rack
in the New Forest back in September. The mid section was secured by
bolts, so could be removed to convert it to a solo if required.
