I just got back from an evening at my LBS where I was helping
teach a bunch of cyclists how to do simple bike stuff - we did
removing & replacing wheels, removing & replacing tyres & tubes and
basic puncture repairs. It was quite an interesting experience - I
grew up just "knowing" how to do that sort of thing (or at least,
I can't remember not knowing how to do it and I can't remember
being taught). The two nurses with the tandem were good value.
I've got to get me one of those tandems ... but a road one, not a
hybrid/mtb. The ultimate Beach Rd Bunch Buster. w00t!
A pretty worthwhile experience, and I'm glad I offered to help! And
now 9 more people will be a little more self-reliant and know how
to fix punctures, and will hopefully ride their bikes more as
a result of tonight. Very rewarding 🙂
