  1. Is the taper of T.A. Specialites Zephyr bottom bracket the same as
    Shimano's?

    Thanks,

    Bill

  2. TA doesn't have a Zephyr bottom bracket.

The TA Cranks and BBs have a ISO Taper (like Campagnolo), and Shimano
allways JIS (Japan Industrie Standard) its little bit different.

AFAIK TA used to be ISO but changed to JIS in around 2003.

Recent TA BBs are now JIS(ala shimano-a shimano BB can be used), not ISO

  6. Interesting. So what taper BB does a TA Zephyr double crank use, JIS
(shimano) or ISO (campy)? If I have a 113mm JIS Phil Wood bb, can I
use it with a TA Zephyr double crank? Thanks!

  7. Zephyrs are JIS.

There may be a caveat. In researching this myself I read that TA
preciptiously warning switched from ISO to JIS. I have no first hand
    knowledge of this as the
double and triple Zyphers I've purchased over the past 7 or so years have
    all been JIS.

As for length of spindle you can try the Phil you have and adjust it. I'm
pretty sure that I use a 116 length for a Zephyr light double on a bike set
    up specifically for double chainrings.

  8. Thanks, that's exactly the info I need!
