I see there are a number of threads here asking about what foods are
best to eat for lunch in order to feel great and perform at optimum
levels.
I'll give an example of what I'm going to have for lunch today:
A cup of leechies, peeled and frozen
Half a cup of blackberries (I'm going out in the sun today)
A large banana
2 Tbs. of ground flax seeds
2 Tbs. of wheat germ
About a cup and a quarter of organic soy drink (from soy beans that are
not genetically engineered!) or enough soy drink to make the blades of
the blender turn just enough to produce a thick smoothie.
I won't be hungry after a lunch like that, will feel light and be
raring to go until dinner time.
You can, and should, vary the fruit. I try to go for richly-colored
fruit like mango, yellow peaches, cherries, plums, etc., but sometimes
I like some of the light-colored fruits like leechies.
Bananas give a lot of energy and potassium, so necessary to optimum
functioning of the nervous system. It prevents leg cramps too.
The wheat germ and flax seeds not only provide a feeling of fullness,
they provide many nutrients. Check this out for yourselves.
The protein in the soy will keep my blood sugar stable.
Soy is very important for peri- and pre- and menopausal women. The
phytoestrogen in soy is very similar to estrogen and precludes needing
hormone replacement therapy in menopausal women, which can be very
dangerous. But that is another subject entirely.
To your health!
