  1. I have a 1985 Klein Performance with the Klein "pressed-in" bottom bracket. Does anyone know if the square taper is JIS or ISO?

If unknown, does anyone know what cranks may have originally come on the bike?

    Thanks in advance,

    Eric L.

Think Sheldon Brown has the taper specs at www.harriscyclery.com When I have an unknown spindle, I measure it and compare to known JIS and ISO spindles. ISO begins and ends with a smaller cross section.

  3. Thanks for the info.

Does anyone happen to know this off the top of their heads?

    Thanks,

    Eric L.

The press-in BB was also used on some of Klein's MTBs and that was long after Campy was making any MTB cranks. I HAVE seen some Klein Performance bikes with Shimano cranks but I can't swear that they didn't have some kind of modification.

So I'm pretty sure the spindle on your bike is Shimano square taper, but I couldn't find a definitive answer. I even found some replacement press-in bottom brackets but they didn't say either!
