When do you become a woman?
Quoted message said:I'm about 5'5 and weigh about 115. I have a
VERY petite build. I have always been athletic. However, in the past
few years I have been really busy with school and have noticed my
metabolism slowing down. Which is a good thing. My legs and arms are
soooo thin! The only problem is that I have a very flabby stomach...
&/or midsection. I DON'T THINK I AM FAT! My stomach appears to look
even bigger than it really is due to the rest of my body is so small.
You are describing someone with an apple shape as opposed to a pear
shape that is starting to pack on visceral fat. You're at greater risk
of your obesity harming you, although your legs quite likely will
continue to look great.
Quoted message said:A few months back I broke my foot and shortly after my foot healed I
came down with a sickness that kept me out of the gym for another
month. I basically didn't work out for three or four months. Not to
mention it was winter time and I packed on some unwanted flab... and
had no chance to burn it off. =(
If it hadn't been that it would have been something else. Getting a
job, having kids, whatever life changes come along and transform you
from carefree girl to grown-up woman. Welcome to the world of trying to
maintain a healthy body while having an actual life.
Quoted message said:After not going to the gym for so long I have been getting back into
things kinda slowly. I have been exercising every day for the past
month. I run for 20 minutes on the treadmill at the steepest incline.
I have doing this because I'm under the impression that it will build
my lower body while trimming my midsection. I have not noticed any
results in my stomach. In fact, I feel flabbier!
The word you're looking for is fat. You feel fatter. And I'm not
surprised: I haven't had any luck using aerobics to do body
recomposition, either. To lose fat while retaining lean body mass
(muscle) you need to lift weights. Heavy ones, over and over again. A
nice routine for someone like you would be the Body for Life program.
Find it at www.bodyforlife.com.
Quoted message said:I am hesitant to diet since the rest of my body is so small.
LOL. All you're saying is you're waiting for the rest of you to get
equally fat. Likely case is that you'll continue to pack on visceral
fat for many, many years with your belly growing but nothing else, just
because that's where you pack on fat. I pack it on my butt and thighs.
The rest of me isn't terribly fat, either. But there isn't anyone
here who would suggest I don't need to diet.

I second the suggestion to go to http://www.stumptuous.com/weights.html
Also, just a word about usenet. Google does not have anything to do
with what you are. It's just using a usenet feed to the world of usenet
newsgroups that were in existance long before google or TalkAbout or any
of the other portals started pretending they own it. Its' more like a
bulletin board with a community that frequents it. And Cohen is not the
Google Guru, that's insultingly base. He's way more of a Guru than
that. I didn't bother to open your naked pics, but I'm sure he did and
that definitely got you on his good side. But he's right: lose the
cutesy spellings. This community doesn't like text messaging spellings,
either.
