  1. I just saw Jacques Pepin make some crab cakes from scratch. I never knew it
was so easy. But what to do about the bread crumbs? Crush some nuts and
use it in place? I love crab cakes.

The best packaged crab cakes I know have hardly any crumbs (Phillips
brand). You could use LC bread and cut down the amount. Or Wasa
multigrain. Egg or egg white is a good binder.

  4. I love to eat crab cakes, or crab legs,. I do not use any bread crumbs,
Costco has a good canned crab meat or if you are the east coast like me, you
can get packaged crab at your local grocery store. I add chopped onions,
bell peppers red and green Old bay seasoning and a little cayanne pepper and
egg to bind it together. Sautee in a little olive oil or butter. I like to
use roasted red pepper and mayo in a blender for my sauce over mixed greens.
I think a really great crab cake so not have bread crumbs as it is a filler.
    Good Luck

  7. You can also make bread crumbs from the low carb breads. I've used
Keto Crumbs before, but they are out of business. Not sure if anyone
else is making LC bread crumbs, but a look in the supermarket/health
food store could work. Also, you don't need much in the way of bread
crumbs. Some of the best crab cakes I ever had were made using very
little crumbled saltines. If you only put a little in, you can
probably get away using even that. Most crab cakes have loads of
filler, because they want to cut down the crab to a minimum.

  8. Bread is not low carb, idiot.
