PCSOL recommends outlawing ethylene glycol.
Ethylene glycol is "antifreeze." Of course, like the amalgam
issue, there's no need at all for driving in the winter. Once
the snow flies, just put "old Betsy" in the garage and walk
or take out your skates. Driving in the winter should be
completely banned.
"Wiley and associates reported inhalation studies on rats and
mice exposed eight hours a day for 16 weeks to concentrations
ranging from 0.35 to 3.49 mg/liter. Complaints among women
workers exposed to a solvent mixture containing 40% ethylene
glycol . . . . "
---Casarett and Doull's Toxicology.
No mention was made about the 12 sheep with amalgam
restorations who also used this ethylene glycol stuff for
mouthwash, but I just sense that this might have been part of
the problem.
In short, how about letting the dentists decide whether or
not they need to use amalgam, or am I comparing 'ananas and
cows again?
Cheers,
Joel

PS- My brother-in-law is in favor of outlawing anti-freeze
but only in Scandanavian countries. He lives in Florida. He
loves to compare 'ananas and cows, too.
