  1. Even medicinal ginseng which has had at least 300 studies done on it may not
    be powerful
enough to overcome a narrow minded view of life. We each have the choice in
    life about
how we want to lead it. We can take a positive view or a negative view. Same
    price, different
    result.

We have a few factions on this newsgroup suggesting that because I am a
    distributor of a
unique and powerful natural medicinal herb that is sold through a Multi
    Level Marketing
plan, that the product is then somehow no good. How does that make any sense
    in logical
thought? Although these same individuals claim to know all about MLM's they
    have confused
an MLM marketing plan with pyramid schemes that existed back in the 1970's.
They are very different. A pyramid scheme is an illegal scheme that was
outlawed long ago. It deals only in
money, not a legitimate product. Like a chain letter.

The MLM plan is a legitimate business marketing plan that is utilized under
certain circumstances. Like any business option it has been abused in rare
cases. The MLM plan is a popular method to
market unique health supplements and natural medicinal products because they
are part of a holistic approach to health which must be taylored to
individual needs and requires explanation to the customer. Also, although
many herbs have been shown to aid in the relief of ailments, they require a
drug identification number (DIN) to be sold in stores as a remedy. That
    process was designed for
the drug companies products and does not fit a natural model. Here is some
    information that should
be enjoyed by a few for its negative
    value http://www.freedomofchoicecanada.org/Articles/Article2.html .

There are a number of variations of the MLM plan. Some require you to find
    other people, others
have no such requirement. Sometimes there is a certain level of volume
required to maintain your distributor rights, sometimes there is no such
requirement. Compensation also takes many forms,
from sliding volume discounts to as simple as a rebate for each piece of
    product. To illustrate how
a MLM plan can be very focused on the product I will use an actual example
    of a real plan.

The largest MLM company in Asia is a company called Bing Han Pharmaeutical.
They sell one product called Refined (Panax) Ginseng Powder. They focus on
    the product by designing a
MLM plan that allows everyone access to the product. It goes like this. If
you use, or sell 10 cans
of the ginseng over any period of time, you can become a distributor. From
    that day forward you
are a distributor and will receive a rebate on every can of ginseng that you
sell. You have no further requirement to do anything to maintain this
    status.

There are there others with similar plans to allow doctors access to these
    prducts.

Tell you what's wrong Dave. In normal marketing of products you have the
producer, the distributor, then the retailer.
    Three groups.
In MLM, sure, the product goes through the same physical chain, but since
many there are wanna be millionaires who want *others* to make money for
them, that product *you* sell is tagged such that a percent of the price the
end user pays goes to the producer, your field marshall, your general, your
colonel, your major, your captain, your leutenant, your sargeant, your
    corporal, then you.
It causes the price to be inflated beyond what the value of the product is
actually worth. This *can* be overcome by the mystique that it is"Only
available through certain sources" or the hype that usually accompanies
    these health-based products.
In the end, they are probably no better or worse than any other products,
    just notoriously over-priced.

Well, as you already said to sell a product at retail you must pay the
    producer,
distributor, retailer and then you must buy packaging and advertising to
    sell the
product. In this scenario the producers markup must cover the cost of his
    producers
warehouse, his advertising, his packaging, his sales force and his fleet of
    trucks. Then
the distributors markup must cover the cost of his warehouse, his sales
    force and his
fleet of trucks. Then we come to the retailer. He has a very high overhead
    and on health
products will markup 100% or more. Then, he would have a product that is so
    superior
to the other products on his shelf that it won't sell because it would be
    priced higher than
other products. Have you ever bought some prescription medicine? That would
    give you
some indication of what I mean.

As for everyone wanting to become a millionaire, you must sit on God's right
    hand.

You don't have packaging, and transportation andd storage requirements. Many

    more expensive than warehouse space.

Yes, Jan, I know you understand. When I first came here it was to offer some
pertinent information on a ginseng that is saving me from cutting off a
portion of my lungs. Since I've been on the ginseng my improvement has
    chased away a
lung specialist and a heart specialist. That was my punishment for not
    taking
enough medicine and lying to them?? I guess getting better without their
permission is an afront to them. Anyway I won't be needing the lung removal
and I have a groundswell of followers who used to see me shuffling along
gasping for breath. I don't do that anymore. So far my family doctor, some
nurses from the local hospital, my pharmacist, and the staff of the golf
    course
where I play everyday are taking the ginseng. It's true that a picture is
    worth a
    thousand words.

Contact me by email and we can chat about you becoming the first distributor

It's true that a picture is
    worth a

Spamming as you do on non-commerical newsgroups is a violation of your ISP's
terms of service. Like many ISP's, they might not care if your account is
current, but some are feeling the heat of the regulatory agencies. Its

Dave gets to his REAL point, which is making money by building up
    his downline.

MLM is the only business model that insists that you recruit your
own competition. Buy a franchise from a reputable franchiser and
they will not sell another one in your territory. Become a MLMer
in a town of 500 and your upline will want you to recruit them
    all.
