There is almost no clearance above the cluster.
If the crankset is a 10-speed version, you should use the 10-speed chain. So
says Shimano, and so says our own testing, where we used 9-speed chains and
found they created one heck of a racket (very noisy plus didn't shift as
well). The downside is that 10-speed chains don't last as long.
For more clearance above the upper jockey wheel, you need to tighten the "b
tension screw" at the back of the rear derailleur.
