Has anyone used the new Atkins Carb Counting desktop software? I cant get any sense of the utility of this software from the website. It is a major oversight not to permit a time-limited download version.

No it isn't.
It is common sense for anyone who intends to make a profit out of online software sales. Whenever any company releases a full featured, time limited version of their software, within days someone will release a crack or hack or password bypass to circumvent the software either by converting it to full operation or by resetting the time limits. Just check any of the PTP, crack, hack, or warez ng's for examples. Any company that releases a time limited version of their software is asking for trouble.
Secondly, why bother with Atkins carb counting software? Programs like FitDay are readily available and they do an admirable job of counting all nutritional values, not just carbs.

Yeah, because software titles that don't have time limited versions are never cracked. -- Why do fat chance and slim chance mean the same thing?

fitday bites. I only use it now and then to average calories.
