I am not on a low-carb diet. I did not come here claim I was. I came here
because I asked a simple question. I'm eating two foods that are seemingly
unhealthy. One seemed to encourage weightloss or maintenance, the other did
not. To those that responded with helpful information, I really appreciate
it. I intend to do some more reading on the subject. Again, if anyone has
any good books I'd appreciate it.
What I did not expect however, was to be lit into like I was, and I'm really
perplexed. I'm not a troll. I did not say that what I was eating was healthy
or recommend it. I merely told you what I have experienced in the past year.
Why is there so much hostility? You can have a different experience and
disagree politely you know.
One day, I may want to try the Atkins or some other low-carb plan, and I
would like a supportive forum. But I find that often, and this forum is
certainly not alone, there is a lot of vitriol. Why? It really discourages
me. I may stick around, and I thank those that have made me feel welcome,
but otherwise I haven't found a lot of "support" here or even common
decency.
I think that is essential to a diet. Like the fellow that queried about
low-carb bread and got ripped into because it was "fast food". Well, as you
all know not all fast foods are created equal, and in fact, at some
independent places, it's perfectly reasonable to eat healthily.
I don't know. I'm very discouraged at this point. I am a fat ass, I never
said I wasn't. I just don't understand it. Whatever.
Again, thank you to those that offered interesting info and a nice welcome.
I'm sure you'll probably brand me a troll for sure now. But my story is true
and it just makes the effort to find an answer all the more difficult.
