Oh, no problem. I'm hard pressed to understand it: wouldn't dare to

I'm eagerly awaiting the day when you can combine a digital camera, gps and
mp3 player in one smart package - I bet Canon produce a good one.

Can't be too far off :-)

Maybe that's where Paul has gone? He may have joined the design

They haven't got the GPS in yet, afaik, but you can certainly get mobile
phone/camera/MP3 players now. None that run on AA cells though. 8<,

Point taken. My specification wasn't ambitious enough. Perhaps, we should

Bill must have a clue what he's up to. Bill?

he's still photographing with some recent success, perhaps due to
spending more time with his cameras.

Just loved the sound and feel of it, whereas I thought the Canon felt

Maybe - but I really don't know about how photography he's been doing.

probably not a lot, hopefully he's now rectifying that.

    Exactly the same with me!

I always used to use Olympus OM SLRs. As soon as I picked up the D70 it
just felt more serious. After a year of useage I just find that the camera
is well balanced, has well thought out controls, a good OS and is very fast
to power up. I was a bit disappointed when handling the Canon although I
guess if I was buying now I might go for the Canon 20 D

But the Nikon is a great camera!

Well, if it helps, if Paul was here he would retaliate by pointing out how
Canon are streets ahead when it comes to sensor chip design and goodness
knows what else. Never really understood all of that techie stuff though.
If you're happy with it and you photos are good why worry?

I don't know the difference between the various cameras that are
available, I was impressed with the G6 when a pal of mine bought one
recently - so much so that I felt I just had to have one too. I'm
delighted with it, and the recent photos I've taken on the Isle of Mull
and Iona (in glorious weather ) are excellent. The camera performed
superbly. The only thing I would like is the lens adapter tube plus a
    wide angle attachment.
