you won't get details of this until later, but the guy's admitted to using EPO in a judicial investigation and has been fired by Quick Step.
ah now there is:
Quoted post said:BRUSSELS, Jun 1 (CP) - The Dutch rider Marc Lotz has resigned from the Belgian Quickstep team after having admitted to the use of the forbidden product EPO, in preparation for this year's Tour de France.
The rider sent a fax to the Belgian press agency Belga, and wrote: "On the 30th of May, I have admitted to the use of EPO in preparation for the Tour. The urge not to disappoint my team was so big that I escaped to this method, of which I understand that it is unacceptable.
I regret the fact that I have damaged the trust and support of my team, supporters and family due to this mistake. I wish not to avoid my responsibility and have offered my immediate resignation. I hope that my actions won't damage my team in the long run."
Lotz joined Quickstep during the winter, after having spent no less than eight seasons at the Dutch team Rabobank.
Quickstep manager Patrick Lefevere reacted: "The team strongly regrets the fault our rider made, because we were more than satisfied with the past efforts from the rider in question. Given the ethical charter, where we ourselves cooperate with, and the strong violation of the doping laws, we have no other option than to accept this dismissal."
