  1. I got a... I got a... I got a... I got a new toy!

You'll see it on the next BR I go to ๐Ÿ™‚

Damn, it's light. I just missed the lift when I came into work, so
instead of waiting 5 minutes for the second slowest lift in the
souther hemisphere, I just put it on my shoulder and walked up the
stairs. I then went back to the bike shop, and picked up my GV bike,
and rode into uni. I missed the lift again, and tried to pick it up,
and then promptly put it back down and waited for the lift to come
    around.

Nice visual #411995: "Unplugged handlebars or extensions can act like

I will try to make BR50, I promise, provided I'm not bedridden with flu.
Come on...pics, PICS. I saw a nice toy in the window at John Beasley
yesterday. A silver carbon Bianchi (one of the ones where they've managed to
make the fibres themselves silvery rather than slathering it in silver
paint) all dressed up in Campy Centaur. I sort of stood and dribbled for a
bit but the only-barely-under $6k price was a bit beyond my means.

I was certainly looking at the more speccy OCRs, but decided for a
first road bike, I would jump in the shallow end first.

Now, cleats and shoes and stuff. What was the recomendation again for
first time users? Don't need overly speccie racing shoes just yet.

There are some passable looking 105 equipped roadbikes out there for under
$1000. Having said that, I'm certainly not unhappy with the OCR3. I keep
thinking about shoes, but that's some spensive bling innit.

Fair enough, but once you started its a slipper slide to more bikes and before you know it there'll be 20 bikes around the house.

As others have said, some mtb shoes so you can walk around properly & double sided pedals. Something like these are a good start
(although I find the shoes too flexy for SSing)
