What kind of bottom bracket comes with the trek 1000 2004 model? I am upgrading my cranks but didnt realize if i need to update the bottom bracket also. I am purchasing the shimano 105 triple. Is there a big difference from the Bontrager Sport that comes with my bike besides the 8 and 9 speed differences. My arm length is still the same at 170.

Doesn't matter what's in it.It's square taper, and you need an octalink 118 spindle.So plan on a new BB, 105 or ultegra.
