Oh screw that for a joke. That sux. Good to see your reasonably okay though. Could've been worse I guess.

Hate it how drivers don't look for bikes. Did that person just not see you or did they misjudge your speed?

Finally the obligatory "how's the bike?". And which bike was it?

Owie... You're not having a good run lately! Just after the gravel rash heals, someone decided that you haven't had enough bed-rest yet....

Where exactly did this prat get you? These are the Bulleen Rd/Doncaster Rd shops I take it?

Maybe we should bring you along to Saturday's protest ride as an example 🙂

Heal well... muchly Dr Phil and cooking shows for you...

Oowwww! Glad to hear it wasn't any worse. Did you get the good drugs that you put up your nose from the ambos? Fentanyl is one I recall - there is a limit of 6 (I forget over what time but it is fairly short). Just remember to say "I want 6 shots up my nose, I want 6 shots up my nose. I want 6 shots up my nose...."

May the gods of cycling smile upon your recovery...

... and [censored] upon the driver who did this to you

    SteveA

And Dutch, how and where did they apply the gaffa tape to you? (I was just checking another thread where a certain F"dont ask"Dutch said "gaffa tape cure everything"

    😄 😄 😄

  6. Ah, sheeittt! Not good FD, not good at all.

Ah, well, least you can still type & tell us you're (kinda) ok. Again, may the Bicycle Gods smile upon you & grant thee a speedy recovery. On foot for Saturday morning then?

For crying out loud Dutchy, who did you [censored]?

You sure this isn't an excuse to get out of your debut this week 😄

Seriously though get well soon, and get that bike blessed by some monk in the process...although that didn't work in Air America...hmmm definately time for a new bike.

    self-mutilation of rider?

green spew? (may be dried up and look like green paint on bike)?

gees Dutchy 🙁 🙁 🙁 🙁 Heal quickly dude!!!! It just makes me sadder and sadder each time I hear about a car (and driver!!) renegotiating road rules with cyclists. I hate riding the trainer but somedays its safer than riding on the road!!!! We are fare game out there. When will the moratorium on cyclist hunting be brought in????? I can't see the banning of stupidity and ignorance ever going ahead tho 🙁

    take care Dutchy

    [QUOTE]

I'd push for a new one on the driver's insurance. Thre's no way of proving that the frame is still in tact, so they are obliged to reaplce it for you. Plus whatever cycling gear you need replaced (knicks/jersey/gloves). someone elses [censored] shouldn't leave you out of pocket as well as injured.

Oh, and be wary, the TAC have a reputation of screwing people on the medical costs incurred.

Kind nurses and good drugs are about the only compensating elements in this
sort of situation. Don't know what's going on with negligent drivers these
days, but I reckon it's about time some changes were made to the law to
encourage drivers to take more notice of cyclists. BISA have the right idea
    in their media release.

    Keep well Dutch.

so far, so good (if that's the right word?)
    getting bike/damage assessed/valued over weekend.
TAC stuff has been smooth so far. havent had to forkout anything yet, despite going thru Epworth private. i guess if i need an op according to what the specialist says next week is when it could get 'interesting'.

BTW, the cops visited again last night and apparently 2 witnesses came forward stating the old c#@t ran a red light just prior to hitting me!@#$#@!!!!! So it would appear his [censored]-is-grass, and just to make it a bit better one of the cops is a parent at my girl's school. Everyone at the school were great too. real sense of community. everyone offering to help, look after kids, 2 parents picked up my bike and brought it home, lots of phonecalls last night to make sure i was ok.
IM BASICALLY VERY ANGRY AT THE WORLD, but these people (and yoose lot) have been great. cheers.
please dont let my incident make you pause about riding.
you all owe me an extra 10km over the next few weeks 😄 😄 😄
