  1. Hi, All:

I wanna know about supplements -- the short answer first, please. I
could do a search, but I never have luck with search engines, and I
figured that asking this question anew would get me "the latest
answers" besides...and, of course, I really just want the short answer
    first.

So what protein mix do y'all recommend? What multivitamin? Or are
    they all the same?

I'm looking at this GNC whey protein...220 calories for 40g of protein,
with another, what, 3 of carbs (??) and some BCAA thing (???)...and I'm
also taking the store-brand Centrum vitamin pills once a
day...actually, just going to do this starting today...sounds good? I
really want to see how far I can go with a semi-serious regime...at 33,
I'm feeling like this is my last chance for a last hurrah, physically
speaking (since it'll be "maintenance" the older I get)....

    All advice appreciated!

  2. They are all the same.

You can either (a) do that search you so hate to do, including back
threads on this news group, web sites, etc, or (b) read a good book on
the topic that more or less includes the info you want.

  7. My approach is to log my eating info into Fitday and then use the
nutritional data to pick my amounts of supplementation.

    For me, I use a multivitamin/multi mineral, A, D, C, Potassium, folic acid,
Omega 3, CLA, and a protein powder called "Isopure."

Oh, wow, thanks for the ref! Goodness, if it isn't "rocket science"
    all over again!

20 servings for $37? Sounds like a great price for something that's
got no fat (don't understand how a protein powder manages to have fat
    in there!).

Hey, wait a minute...the musclebuilding.com site says that

"training athletes often consume 25 grams of whey protein per day.
Bodybuilders who want serious gains (and are burning serious calories),
generally consume 150 grams per day. Extremely high doses of whey
protein is not recommended, as this will cause the body's liver to be
overloaded and you won't get the same benefits as with a consistent
lower amount taken three to five times per day."

I thought it was something like 1g of protein for every pound of
    bodyweight???

  10. Funny, this thread came up..ive gone darn near supp crazy. Here is what I
    take everyday

    TwinLab Multi
    Ester-C...500 mg 3 times a day
    ALCAR-500mg 2 a day
    Fish Oil- 6 GNC caps
    SAMe-400 mg
    Baby aspirin
    Ginkgo
    Phosphadityl serine..not expensive in bulk
Green tea-lots of it..I make iced green tea and take Lean Green caps.
    Milk Thistle
ZMA-before bed. Bulk nutrition has it for a good price so i figured why
    not,seems to help sleep.
    Muscle milk.
I buy it all online for a decent price except the fish oil.
I alternate my multi with a B complex every other day.
Just received some Yohimbine today but havent figured out when and how I
will take that. Maybe before sex. 😉
