Not sure if you heard or not, but this year will be the last year for
the Jim Thorpe Mountain Bike Weekend. Carbon County has decided not to
renew a permit to allow the festival to be held.

The hunters up there are losing their minds! The BLM is completely
broke and now in addition to closing off some of the best trails, there
choking off the last bit of revenue they can get.

It's unfortunate, but JT will die a slow and painfull death.

Is there anything to the suggestion that somebody made to purchase a hunting
license, wear it on on one's back and claim "scouting for game" if stopped?

Funny you should say that. The PAGLC changed the statutes two years ago
to allow ATV's on PA state gamelands for handicapped hunters. So, not
only are they allowing "mechanized" transportation, they'll be
destroying the singletrack at the same time.
