Those could've been the results with 500 meters to go. I couldn't believe
Mattan made up that much ground that quickly. The French Eurosport
commentators were going on about the assist on Belgian soil to a Belgian
rider.

Despite my limited German I think they were saying the same thing. The
word "Jury" kept coming up. Pretty fine Kierin ride really as there were
the Race Director's car & the service car as well as the bikes.
Did anybody time the last Kilometre?

Looks like he spent quite a bit of time behind the car, and he got a solid
boost from the last motorbike. On the other hand, you can also see Flecha
trying pretty much the same thing with another motorbike in that clip.

The time Flecha lost was from a photomoto parked on the outside of the
turn entering the bottom of the Kemmel. He had to brake hard and cut
the inside of the turn. Not that he was going to solo from there but
still, too many vehicles on the narrow road.

The officials should've clear all the traffic between the riders in the
last couple of kilometers.

Too bad for Magnus going down towards the end as well.

What happened to Magnus Backstedt? My feed kept 'error'iing out and I saw
one pic of him crashing I thought?

Must have been too much load on their servers, because from 9:45 on kept
getting picture stalls, freezes and errors. Didn't even see the end of the
race. When I went to play the highlights everything came through just fine
so I know it's not my ISP or anything.

That was a hell of an accidental slingshot he got from the camera
moto after crossing the road from the accidental slingshot he got
from the other moto.

Five seconds in a kilometer is not a lot and you would have to say
he probably would have caught Flecha anyway. But he certainly wouldn't
have passed him with such overwhelming authority without the accidental
help.
