  1. My daughter and I had a walk to Black Fell via Tarn Hows today. It was
a bit grim at times and icy cold on the top - we could see there was
snow on Fairfield and the higher fells. This was Connies first full
Wainwright - I think she did excellently. A piggy back was only
required on part of the descent, not bad really! Photo's are posted:

Great pic's, thanks, and many congratulations to Connie :-) That's a
big walk for a small girl!

    Best wishes,

  3. Thanks, it was a big walk...further than I remembered!

  4. Thanks Fran, I didn't think we would see any more snow this year.
    Connie is 4.

    Well done, Connie....

If though Daniel is 10 I also seem to end up carrying his rucksack as
    well!

  6. Typo: replace If with Even!

4? Are you going to be at the expedition on the 23rd? Emily
will have just turned 5 by then. Perhaps if one small girl
can keep going t'other one will as well. I'm quite determined
to get there if I can. I wonder if I can get a half day's
holiday from school on the Friday for my offspring?

If you can keep your head when all around are losing theirs...
then you've failed to grasp some important aspect of the
    situation.

  8. ....of course, thats what you are there for!

  9. No, I won't be there sorry. I'm sure Emily will do it with plenty of
    encouragement.
