Today was the first day back on the bike for me after two weeks of being
away for work. It was actually a pretty good day for riding in Melbourne
but I still managed to have a [censored] day......
Ride in to work was enjoyable although I was getting a bit "hot and cold"
all the way in (might be the start of a flu or something?). I actually felt
pretty good given that I have done nothing for two weeks.
Get my bike off the rack for the trip home and realise that my pump is
missing.....it has either been taxed from work (unlikely) or it fell off
somewhere between Watsonia and Southbank (it is a black Zefal X3 in case
anyone finds it). So I take off with a quick prayer to the puncture god not
to flat on the way home as I need to get home by 5pm so my boy can go to
karate. As I got onto Heidelberg road I noticed a bit of a funny noise
coming from the bike.......basically it is a "click, click, click" as I am
pedalling. I stopped to see if I had picked up a bit of wire or something
but it is all clear. The click is only pretty faint and doesn't sound too
drastic but it was annoying the [censored] out of me. It is only there when I am
pedalling and seems to be louder if I am pedalling harder. I was thinking
that it could be one of the pedals giving out so I pedalled with only one
foot at a time but there was no noise when I did this. I am now guessing
that it is probably the bottom bracket and to top it all off, a mate of mine
currently has my BB remover tool and he is not answering his phone!!!
Stupid bike.....
