Anyone up for a BR over Easter? Sunday is no good because I don't want
to miss the Easter Bunny. How's Saturday or Monday? I like the sound of
Saturday better.

I don't know how many people will be coming to work Friday, and hence
how hung over I will be Saturday. I'll be coming to work Monday, but I
can always do one of my 70km detours to work again 🙂
And I'd be getting here 3 hours before I got here this afternoon.
Bloody lazy student life-style.
So I vote for Monday. Don't think I have any clashes on the ride
calendar for this weekend.

I'd prefer Sunday or Monday.
What about that 'alternate bike' BR? Is that a good way to comemorate the 40th(?) BR.

Funny about that. I was thinking yesterday about giving the reverse
circuit a go but figured the only way I could get up that big hill south
of Warrandyte would be on the MTB (granny gear all the way). So how
about Monday on MTB's for the Easter Special?

.... and Friday.. although I am thinking of a Frankston ride on Friday..
I think I've done enough hill training to tackle Mt Beach Rd 😉
Word on the street is the Woo has put real MTB rubber on his beast in
readiness for some extreme offroad loving...

I haven't been out there for a while.. I'm tempted to give it a go on
the ss. Need to do an embrassment-free recon the day before methinks.
What about a BMX ride? Ahh fuggit, lets just walk it! :P

damn it.. now you are talking. I'm always up for a challenge.. though
I've only walked to work once in the last year - 14kms each way using
the most direct route..
The BR is 84.5kms for me.. @7km/h walking its just over 12hrs.. hmm..
might be something I could train for.. and could come in handy given my
recent luck with getting a flat and attempting to fix it 😉

I don't know that, hill around Brighton can be a killer, and if you go as far as Frankston, well that thing would have to be a gradient of at least 30% 😉
Friday would have to be after 9am (min). I could probably do Sat, but my pref would be for Sunday or Monday. Just looking at weather, rain forecast for Fri and Mon, fine 23 sat

hopefully that was a typo and you meant "3%". i larf at [censored] Rd.
except when Geoff's mate with the bivvee bag is about
Strangley enuff this goose gave me [censored] as Cgrade went past as i was suckin-air after end of Dgrade sprint at StK on Sunday.
"get out the way" he shouted as i rode in the gutter as Cgrade passed, without comment or a nerrymind 'stay left' from ANYONE in C!
"Keep fallin off the back" I yelled at him...
Funnily enuff he did...

Yep, I'm another ambivalent Saturday or Monday. All the same for me.

Nice comeback! 😄
I'd remember that, although I'm normally too shagged to be even speak afterwards.

Ok so it sounds like FR Friday and MTB Monday (does that mean it should
be SS Saturday). I'll leave it to the fixie guys to worry about FR. How
about on MTB Monday (road bikes welcome) we meet at the usual spot at
7:20am. Ride down Manningham Rd to Heidelberg then out the reverse route
to Diamond Ck. Regroup at Diamond Ck and decide whether to break there
or Hurstbridge or Smiths Gully then continue the reverse route back to
Doncaster.

I'll be there. I'm a bit nervous of the fact that it's the last race for the season. May mean the riders take more risks to get a win.

ohhh yeah.. might even shave a few cms off the flatbar on the MTB this
weekend... flipped the stem last week for that 'bent over more'
feeling.. (no not THAT one)...
I cant remember if I've said this before, but it is very amusing on the
bike path to pass another MTB rider while in a very non MTB aero
'tuck'.. 9 times out of 10 they will bend their elbows and lower their
heads just a little.. because everyone knows you ride faster like - than
you do like | or / 😉
looking forward to Monday!

as should you!
apart from the 'go-with-one-to-go' strategy, that is 🙄
my aim is to be with the first 4-5 at the last hairpin, even if it kills me
(no doubt it will). even if i have nuthin left after the corner at least I'll leaarn how to get there. best i have done previously is go 10th to 5th after the hairpin, cos i wasnt where i needed to be prior, which doesnt get me much. So perhaps I'll learn how to go from 5th to 10th with the above strategy? 😄
you suck that wheel tonight, evil whippet-hillclimber-type, you
