/me has a RH 4.2 disk somewhere and Debian 1.x in an even
dustier corner
Sat in a cardboard box in my flat, awaiting sorting, is a Slackware 95
CD set (6 CDs). I used to have to ask permission to leave the family
PC on overnight so that I could do a kernel rebuild (~12 hours)!
Oh, if we're into bragging, I still have some of the floopies left from
the 70-odd that the SLS distribution came on. 1993, I think. I've been
using Linux on my main desktop machine ever since (before that I used
BSD on ARM hardware). I also have Slackware and Infomagic sets from 95,
and Suse, Mandrake, RedHat, Caldera and others from the late 90s.
Nowadays I use Debian on my desktop, laptops and servers, because of
the wonderful package management system, and the OpenZaurus
distribution (based on Debian) on my palmtop.
Not that I'm religious, you understand. My phone runs Symbian.
