I actually like that idea much better than doing really heavy partials.

It's that walkout that will blow the MCL or ACL. Doing it off the pins at
least reduces the chance of injury.

But I still don't see much point. Get your ass to the floor. You know
    better, dude.

I'm with Whit - once in a while, too-heavy partial squats are good,
psychologically and I also feel it teaches me to be tighter in the belly
and lower back. Maybe not so important if you've been squatting for a
long time - since that ain't me, I dunno.

Maybe his partials weren't so awfully high, and we have seen some
powerlifters stop a few inches above parallel, so you never know ....

    <just pullin' your leg>

    LOL!

Yeah. But, OTOH, Whit has lifted in PL competitions. So his official squat
is still pretty much pegged by what he has done before the judges. And
    that ain't 700.

    :^?

On another tact - given that he is claiming a 500 lb squat to powerlifting
depth (just below parallel) while wearing gear (knee wraps only) - why
would you do a 700 lb squat for psyche benefit? I think the proper term
would be 'big, fat 'ol ego benefit', right? Which ain't gonna fly, cuz
this is MFW. Whit is still stuck at 370 raw, done before a panel of
qualified judges. All the rest are internet lifts.

It sounds right when I say it, but I sure blew it in the spelling! I don't
think an "intuituve sense of what is right or appropriate" is gonna fly
even if I try and spin it!

I'll have to take another tack. Thanks for the correction.

I'm with Whit - once in a while, too-heavy partial squats are good,
psychologically and I also feel it teaches me to be tighter in the belly
and lower back. Maybe not so important if you've been squatting for a
long time - since that ain't me, I dunno.

Fine. But I wouldn't be claiming I'd done a 700 lb squat like the
    powerlifters.

    that was a JOKE keith

    obviously.

an 8 inch or so partial is not a PLer squat, unless you are as short as

Maybe his partials weren't so awfully high, and we have seen some
powerlifters stop a few inches above parallel, so you never know ....
