That looks OK to me. Things may change, of course, but I'm free on
that weekend so far. (Tranmere are away to Swindon Town!)

The Tractor Boys should be at "dirty" Leeds but having to miss that as
my son is playing for a local team......

As stated in an earlier post I may not arrive until late
    afternoon.......[🙁]

  4. Agreed on both accounts.

I'll be there. Perhaps we should bring a dragon to slay, in view of the
    date?

Yep, put me down for that weekend!
I can sort out my travel arrangements nearer the time. Quite possible I'll
stay an extra night or two to maximise my time there.

    OK by me.
Checked that I *can* tow the caravan over Kirkstone pass.

For anyone who anticipates problems driving over it, using M6 J40 only adds
about 20 miles if you're coming from the south, I think.

The numbers said to be going will rise steadily to a peak, then they
will drop out one by one until three actually make it.
They will disagree on the route, and go on three separate walks, meeting
in the pub in the evening.

I was at a loose end on Sunday, so I drove Kirkstone pass *solo* and on
down past Ullswater to Penrith. Absolutely no problems driving solo. If
you can change to a lower gear, I did not even use first. I can not
imagine anyone having problems, even if you have a small engined car.

Dropped in at the Brotherswater campsite and it looked fine.

I should imagine though it would run something like:

    - discuss at some length who's coming
    - call campsite to tell them a group of indeterminate size and not all of
whom know each other will be turning up

It is important to tell the campsite that we all met on the internet
and are, therefore, axe murderers. If possible, bring an ice axe to
    add to the effect.

    Sound about right?

I don't think you focused enough on the route planning. Well, we
didn't focus on it at all on Exped 15! Anyone who had planned a route
was ignored (sorry Roger!) and we split into factions. However, I
have "Good Intentions" for Exped 16 and will at least have a quick
    look at the map beforehand.

  19. Oh sugar, by my reckoning I'm on the late shift that week (I'll look at the
rota at work tomorrow + not sure what weekend rota I'll be on now),
Therefore I'll be finishing at 21:00 friday night - drat!

So I might take a few days off work, probably go there on Thursday and leave
    Sunday.

  20. Talk about Paintshop and GPS and Paintshop. Then leave he route to the last
    minute.

    How-about:

If the weathers right anyone fancy Pinnacle ridge, St Sunday crags?
Stay the night in the Priests Cave, Dove Crag?
    Striding Edge - Swirrel edge?
