We just got another blizzard and there's about 10" of snow
on the ground - again. I'm getting cabin fever. Help.

We're buried in snow here, too.
I'm happy, though. It's very pretty. We scooped up a big pot full of snow
and made snowcones using sugar-free syrup. Mmmmm!
Plus this gives me extra time - I've gotten some housework done that I'd
been putting off, and I have some sewing projects I'd like to finish today.
I'm trying to avoid playing my DDR game until I'm done sewing. We'll see if
I can make it. 🙂
Oh! Plus, I made some strawberry soy muffins. I don't think they're quite
as good as the blueberry soy muffins. But it made the house smell all
yummy, and the only fruit I had on hand was strawberries, so that's what I
used. Hubby still thought they were great.
Relax! When was the last time you got to spend a Saturday at home? I can't
even think of how long it's been for me...

Yes, it's pretty, almost like a snowglobe. Just too damn
much of it so far this winter.

I thought about doing some housework - just long enough to
make that urge pass : )

You really like that game, huh? Okay, I'll bet you a
low-carb cyber cookie that you don't make it.

I don't like that "trapped" feeling. Sounds selfish, but I
want to be able to just pack up and go whenever the mood
strikes, not when the weather decides.

It's sunny here; the main problem is gusting winds. Seems like spring,
almost. Plant nurseries are selling roses and onion sets and seed potatoes
and people are planting spinach, sugar peas, collards, etc.

Not sure how much we've had here, it started last night and is still coming
down. I am quite happy staying in where it is cozy, though.

You're in Detroit, right? I'm just across the Michigan
border in Northwest Ohio. You got at least as much as we
did. Some friends were supposed to leave out of Detroit for
Miami today, but I believe Detroit cancelled all of its
flights. This was a particularly nasty nor'easter.
Marsha/Ohio
Yes, I am. I guess the East Coast is getting it even worse.

Good. Maybe my brother in Maryland will get it, too. A
while back, he told some of his friends that Northwest Ohio
never gets the "lake effect" snow because we're on the west
side of Lake Erie. Ha. Right after that was when we
started getting pounded.

I am so jealous. Although we had the first sprinkle of snow in
years, it wasn't nearly enough. I'm still thinking about that guy in
Reno that was was snow-blowing a pathway in 8 foot of snow. Now that
looks like fun.

They said on the news that there had been 12" at Metro Airport. At first
they said the snow will last till 6:00 p.m. now they are saying midnight.
And right now it's 14º with a windchill of -2º.

Um, maybe you missed the complaint about the wind? I'm just glad I don't
wear contact lenses.

You call that snow?
That's a sprinkling!
The snow today was taller than my knees! And I'm tall! And I have long
legs.
After I shoveled, the piles that I made were taller than 6'
The wind has been blowing fiercely all day. That made it difficult to
shovel. I spent an hour, almost completed our sidewalk & driveway. Did
everything except for behind one car, and cleaning the cars off. Came in
too tired - sent hubby out to finish the job.

I'm not sure if I won this bet or now. I have managed to stay away from the
game. However, I haven't gotten around to my sewing. Shoveling the snow
outside too much longer than I'd planned, and coming inside I was exhausted.
With my legs already feeling like jelly, I'm not about to play my DDR game.
I did take a 4-hour nap today!
Yikes
but last night was a Girls Night and I went over to my friend's house with
some other ladies and we played cards and games and talked and swapped back
rubs, etc.
And they made fresh brownies
had raw chocolate chip cookie dough
had pizza rolls
and I ate none of it.
I was very social, played a lot - drank 2 glasses of diet coke w/lime.
Yup, that's how much self-control I have. 🙂 Plus, we did this later in the
evening, so it was after I'd eaten dinner and I simply was not hungry. My
friends still can't believe how I can possibly pass up goodies, they just
find it shocking. Only one of them from the group is overweight, though -
and she's not nearly as overweight as I used to be. I sure do love not
being the large person anymore 🙂

I forgot the whole reason I brought up girls night... I was there until 1am!
So I only slept from about 2am until 8am this morning. Then I did housework
and stuff... then I took that super long nap, which is unusual for me. I
think I just felt so cozy with all the snow outside, and I had just put
fresh flannel sheets on the bed, soft and warm from the dryer and smelling
really good.
Hopefully I won't stay up too late tonight. I need to get up early tomorrow
to primp and get into my fancy dress that fits me again. 🙂 It's my
company's annual awards banquet, a big dress-up deal. Last year, I wore
this huge sack of a dress. Actually, that is where my "before" picture on
my link is from.
