Welcome, Michael. Chip in with ideas and responses. You are welcome
here.Thanks nancree.
There's some funny posts in here amongst the food. Reminds me of
dinner conversation in a way 😉That's how we "oldies" think of this place. It's a big dinner table where
we have conversations about food and sometimes venture into other topics.
Just wear your flame-retardent undies 🙂Jill

conversation in a way 😉Welcome, Mick! If you think of this place as a huge, international
family who all have an interest in food, but argue and console and
gossip and advise and go off topic and rag on one another, as well as
cheer one another on (and know that our "motto" is "the chaotic
kitchen"😉 you'll go a long way to figuring this lot out.Of course, I've been posting to this ng for 10 or 12 years and haven't
figured this lot out <g>Terry "Squeaks" Pulliam Burd

I don't know who posted this bit of garbage, but not all "oldies" think of
the newsgroup this way. This concept is a rather new idea and to many of us,
a bad one.Quoted message said:
Gets a bit hot at times, huh ?
It can, but if you are kind, honest and discuss what you know and not just
jump in because you want to see yourself, you will be fine. If you have an
opinion feel free to state it -- just make sure you note it is your opinion
and not the "Words of Truth!". Diffuse nastyness with humor whenever
possible. Often it is just better to ignore it.Quoted message said:
Well warned ( or should that be 'warmed' 😉
Mick.
Mick, there are many good people here. I have personally met many of them
(around 70-80). Some have become lifelong friends for me. There are also
some right [censored] too, but mostly these folks are nice people with a few
bad-uns intermixed. If you have a killfile, use it -- but don't be too quick
on the trigger. I once killfiled someone who is now someone I treasure as a
friend.Sooooooooo, welcome! You will find that there are a bunch of Australians and
New Zealanders who read this group. Many more lurk than post. I'll tell you
right now that you have made a favorable impression on me and, I think, the
whole group. Good on yer!Charlie, from Sandy Eggo (San Diego) California (AKA Charliam)
