I have, effectively and on any measurable scale used by Doctors and
Insurance Companies .. 😉
Actually writing it down has made me think about it a bit more and to be
honest I do feel like smoking quite a lot, despite not having smoked
during the day since I was 21 (I'm now 45), I suppose I choose not to.
I only smoke when I have, perhaps too many, drinks, which isn't often is
all. If I fancied a smoke during the day I would have one, but I never
have and so I won't. I guess drink alters my perceptions slightly and
enough to break down any barrier I use when I haven't had a drink.
Actually it doesn't need 'too many drinks' either, I have smoked before
when I've only had one drink. I'm guessing a drink in the smoky,
lively, comfortable environment of a pub is a trigger to the 'craving'
and I allow it to happen.
Just sat down with the wife and we've worked out I had about 12 to 16
cigarettes last year. I don't smoke every time I have a drink, just as
I don't drink alcohol every time we go out.
I'd guess an addiction is an addiction however long one hasn't given in
to it.
