I have a pair of Campy "World Logo" gum brake hoods that are still functional (in one piece) but showing cracks near the edges. Is there anything that I can do or put on the gum hoods to prevent it from cracking any further or even partially restore its original suppleness?

You could try something like Armor-all, but if there's already cracks, its probably too late. Good Luck!

Armorall will slow the deterioration. Nothing will un-crack them.
Nexttime, clean them with a mild soap and armorall occasionally for longer life.

You should be able to find a replacement. Have you checked?

Hey, there is a pair on eBay for just $75! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=7295&item=7121768616&rd=1 (I am too lazy to do tinyurl). You probably can still find some old SunTour, DiaCompe or Modolo that will fit, if you want to go that way. Skip trying to find the Campagnolo, because they are now, apparently, collector's items. They were even expensive back in the day, and that is why all my old and abandoned NR levers have Modolo hoods.-- Jay Beattie.
