cruising down the Anniversary trail down Glen Iris way somewhere and got absolutely pole-axed by a magpie. i think. could have been one of them noisy minahs tho. didnt see it. Got a cut on right cheekbone.
the little [censored] must have hit me full on with his beek. Was seeing stars there for a few seconds and somehow managed not to ride into the shrubbery (besides didnt have a kipper!).
My first thought was that i was under the impression that all bird-related activity had become subdues over the last few weeks.
Obviously a late bloomer.
Gotta give the bugger credit for avoiding my helmet and getting me in the soft fleshy bits

the soft fleshy bits--
flyingdutchI have a rather aggressive wattle bird that likes to attack me as I ride
past Alamain Station. It's only popped up in the last week. -
had to sic the regional council on to a pair of magpies on my commute.
They never got me by surprise, but it near impossible to hold a straight
line with one coming at you, all on a busy highway. No place to be
weaving about. Luckily (for me, not them) in NZ they are considered to
be a bit of a pest animal and the local authority will come and deal to
them if you ask. Which I did. -
We had an insane mynah fly into the bunch last night. Bounced off one guy's back wheel, into another's front wheel, then hit the pavement in a cloud of feathers. I'd have sworn it was dead, but it wasn't there next lap.
Must be the season for birdie testosterone or something.
Regards,
Suzy

Obviously a late bloomer.I got swooped by some grey bird yesterday. Think it was just at the
top of the hill before Burwood station, city bound.--

Maybe it'd been listening to the Hudu Gurus: "I was a kamikaze pilot/they

Issue: The correct lyrics are "I was a kamikaze pilot, They gave me a
plane - I couldn't fly it home", not "I was a kamikaze pilot/they gave
me a plane, but I couldn't fly it" .
http://www.guruvosity.net/romeos.htmIn an 80s far, far away, a long time ago, the "Hudu Gurus" [sic] prolly
played at the Marrickville RSL, the Enmore Theatre on King Street, and
that pub in Annadale (not The Annandale) that always has good bands, the
name of which I always forget, but it's on the corner of Parramatta
Road and some street the name of which... I always forget.
Nevertheless, they were a Sydney Band. *Shame* on you, DRS! (The fact
that you were maybe about 3 when their first record came out is simply
not relevant!)You also didn't mention that:
- the album it was off was called "Stoneage Romeos";
- the hit single "My Girl" was actually about a greyhound;
- Dave Faulkner appeared on "Countdown Revolution" and said, 'who are
these long-haired gits?' about his own band.You have been *warned* about posting incorrect and/or misleading 80s
music trivia to aus.bicycle, aus.bicycle.80s_music_trivia, and

(oops, umm, let's start this again... )And you have *also* persecuted people who are so stoopid that they don't
even know how to change their their computers' timezones.You are soooo banned from aus.bicycle.80s_music_trivia, and
aus.bicycle.80s_music_trivia.moderated. For ever. Or maybe a month.Unless, that is, you can answer any of:
- name the guy from Spandau Ballet that was in that dreadful movie
Killing Zoe (1994);
- name 80s "Gender Bender" Boy George's (who these days looks like Jabba
the Hutt with eye-shaddow) dance record label;
- True or False: when I was last cycling in Sydney, in May 2002, I saw
Iva Davies from 80s band Icehouse, who recently wrote some music for the
2000 Olympics, and the score of "Master and Commander", riding down from
his Paddington house along the footpath of Moore Park Road to do laps of
Centennial Park on his On-One single-speed.In yo' face!

a single speed. Pete Penseyres, Lon Haldeman and Susan Notorangelo.
Charlie Miller did the second PBP in 1901 on a SS but that's a tad
early methinks...:-)I can't think of any Australians, or anyone else for that matter,
