LMAO! How about, Yeah....cook the gb...the bacon...and the herbs and

Seriously, you can make a nice meatloaf. Roll the cheese, bacon and onion in
    the beef like a Stromboli and bake it. Then go to a restaurant. ;}

  5. Did the same but threw in a half can of diced tomatoes, without checking the
carb content,,,had to give it to the dog. Didn't realize there was so much
    carbs in tomatoes.

  9. Not if you buy tomatoes without added sugar. A 14 oz can of Kroger's diced
tomatoes with jalapenos has 14 net carbs and you don't eat the whole can at
one sitting. I have on hand also a large (28 oz) can of Del Monte diced
tomatoes, 24 net carbs for the whole can. I know some of you aren't in the
US so wouldn't have these brands but I imagine you have some available that
don't have sugar or HFCS added.

Add some French Onion Dip and you make some kind of beef stroganoff out
of it. You can use sour cream instead.

With just a few ingredients, you are limited. And half a million herbs
don't let you make different mouth textures either.

  11. sauté the meat and add taco seasoning (or make your own and add). Then,
chop up some onions and tomatoes and cheese. Make a bowl of salad greens
and pour the taco mixture over it. Top with the onions, tomatoes and cheese.

It's like having a taco without the tortilla.

Actually, diced tomatoes are a very good vegetable choice for Atkins
    dieters.
My can label of Rotel diced tomatoes says only 4 carbs per 1/2 cup
plus 1 gram of fiber. I consider that an excellent choice especially
for those looking for more lycopene in their diet. I do diced
tomatoes daily and plan on continuing for the rest of my life.

  13. If you had some veggies you could make a nice soup. Next time you shop
bring home some veggies as well. Here are a couple of my favorite ground
    beef soups.

    German Cheese Soup

    2 lbs, ground beef
1 Bunch leeks, cleaned and cut into rings, discard stems 24 g net carbs
    2 cans beef broth
Kale ( one half of a large bunch) 20 g
    3( soup cans) water
    1 (8 oz.) pkg. Cream Cheese 6 g
    salt and pepper to taste
1 pkg. seasoned cheese (The originator of this recipe was from Germany, so
you have to find your own brand of cheese)

Brown ground beef with seasoned salt and garlic powder or fresh garlic to
taste. Add leeks and sauté till tender. Add beef broth, water, kale, salt
and pepper. Cook slowly for 1 to 2 hours. Add cut up cream cheese and
seasoned cheese. Simmer until cheese is melted.

    Eggplant Supper Soup

    2 tbs. butter 200 cal, 0 carb
2 tbs.olive oil or salad oil 200 cal, 0 carb
    1 medium-sized onion, chopped 42 cal, 9 carb, - 2 fiber, net 7
    1 lb. lean ground beef 1223 cal, 0 carb, 83 g fat, port 111
1 medium eggplant (about 1 lb.), unpeeled, diced 142 cal, carb 33, -14
    fiber, net 19, prot 6
1 clove garlic, minced or pressed 4 carb, 1 carb
1/2 C. each chopped carrot and sliced celery 24 cal, carb 6, -2 fiber, net
    4, prot 1
1 large can (about 28 ounces) tomatoes 232 cal, carb 56, -8 fiber, net 48,
    prot 8
2 cans (about 14 1/2 ounces each) beef broth 8 cal, 2 carb
    1 tsp. Splenda (optional)
1/2 tsp. each pepper and ground nutmeg
    1 tbs. minced parsley negligible
    Salt
    Grated Parmesan cheese

Melt butter in oil in a deep 4- to 5-quart pan over medium heat. Add onion
and cook, stirring often, until soft (about 5 minutes). Crumble in beef and
cook, stirring often, until lightly browned. Stir in eggplant, garlic,
carrot and celery. Cut up tomatoes; stir in tomatoes and their liquid,
broth, sugar, pepper, and nutmeg. Bring to a boil over high heat; then
reduce heat, cover, and simmer for about 30 minutes. Add parsley, season to
taste with salt. To serve, ladle soup into bowls; offer cheese to add to
taste. Makes 6 to 8 servings.

    Hey Chris.
If you don't mind, how about adding your weight to your signature
line. We are curious about your progress. It's beginning weight,
    current weight, goal weight.

    Pj
(19 months on Atkins - the last 14 have been at goal weight
    plus/minus 4 pounds).

  15. If you had a few other ingredients you could make, Savory Cheesecake, or
stuff a pumpkin (basically a casserole).

Good luck - I usually pick the 'go to restaurant' option.

I was in my local safeway store (uk) and discovered that pickled things are
low carb so bought some pickled onions and cauliflower to add to my lunch
tommorrow.....going into the shops myself and reading lables of things I
wouldn't normally buy has been great for me. My mum always does the bulk of
the shopping so I've just been popping in and picking up some wee extras for
    myself.

I looked at some fajita and taco seasonings today in the supermaker and they
were really really high in carbs....like 40g per 100g or something. I
bought some jars of cheese sauces which were around 3 to 5g per 100g of
    sauce.
