Just been to a newly refurbed pub/restaurant. It was like an oven so I turned off the thermostatic valve on the Sizewell B radiator next to us, did no good so eventually turned off the screw valve as well. Another diner nearby complained it was too hot; so they turned the air conditioning on!!
The other thing that annoys me is gas heaters at tables outside.

he-he - think of the wasted money when they get the plumber out to fix the 'broken' radiator :-)

Another waste of energy; the air conditioned trains out of Paddington. In the summer rather than wait for it to work in the terminus all the passengers open the windows! (same applies to a lot of car drivers)

and dont' forget computers...
Computers are like air conditioners - they stop working when you open windows.

You're supposed to open the windows for the first few minutes when the car has been parked in the sun, but close them again *before* you switch on the a/c. Lets out the extreme heat first.
