  1. So I bought a road bike about 2 months ago and after "training" two
days a week I'm only at 16mph average on 25-30 miile solo rides. Over
time I'll be increasing my weekly miles but for now 50-60 miles is all
    I have time for.

Before I venture into group rides I want to increase the mph average.
The weather is turning colder and the sun is going down before I can
get home from work(I don't get off until 6pm).

I bought a basic heart rate monitor and have read up on how to use it,
target zones, etc... but I need to buy a trainer.

Wind, Mag, Fluid..... besides price, I don't really get the
difference. I realize that they become more adjustable but how is that
so much different than just changing gears as you go?

Anyhow, tips on what I should get, best places to buy, how much to
spend, and any other thoughts are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    NewRoadie

Well, since you say that any other thoughts are greatly appreciated,

  4. Thanks. I ordered a fluid trainer today.
