zoom streak XC road flat (?)

yeah that is kind of interestng donnie. i does appear to be the shoe radcliffe
had on. gotta figure donnie she used the shoe w/her indoor stuff...liked it so
much & had so much comfort with it in that environment, despite it not being
billed/marketed as a road shoe, she simply made the decision to take it w/her
to the roads.

i don't know if i've ever quite seen this....a pro using a flat
designed/engineered for xc & indoor surfaces (i imagine it has far more
traction in design than a road flat). definitely interesting, definitely the
shoe she wore...

ya know she trained in flagstaff, az for the nycm...perhaps she did more than
roads out there since i am sure there are some decent trails...perhaps that's
where she dervied her comfort in the shoe.

I found a shot of the outsole. Looks like a road flat. I'm tempted to pick
some up.

Why? what is it about this shoe that interest you? I like Nike flats but I
do believe it's very true, the common perception that they run narrow. They
do. i think you can expect the toe box to be pretty tight as well. i've seen
guys in mayflys but never this shoe. i wonder what about the shoe designates
it to be called xc & an indoor flat?

if you just feel like something new and fresh just to break the monotony of the
same old flat, consider these RC550s over at NB. I think this shoe will be a
smoother translation from a tigerpaw, it won't run narrow, and you'll have
ample toe box room. seems very similar in the sole to the nike shoe in fact.

and if it does not suit your fancy, no hassle return from nb. it just strikes
me as higher risk and not necessarily greater rewards in going with that nike
shoe. i think the same upside can be captured w/o the potential downside. the
most interesting flat out that i'm curious about is the saucony fastswitch
which comes in two versions, the "endurance" model and the "speed" model.

It looks like one of the lightest ones on the market (along with the brooks
T3). Next flat I get is going to be truly minimalist.

<6 oz. in your size? if you really mean what you say, there's no choice other
than the mayfly....that is if you mean what you say. (almost 2/3rds the
weight of what you're considering and the ultimate in a minimalist shoe). ya
know the shoe comes w/a warning that it is not to be used for more than
62miles.

I mean <6oz in a size 9 (the way they usually measure it). You're right, even
the light weight shoes like Brooks T3 or the lightweight nikes (e.g. Streak
Vapor) are probably >6oz in a 10.5
