Ready to splurge on a set of fast deep-section CF wheels for the 2007 tri season. Currently tossed between ZIPP 404s, Zipp 606s or the Dura-Ace WH-7801 (pictured). I am leaning towards the DAs as I can get the same price as Zipps. However any opinions on why any one of them is better than the oter is appriciated and will likely influence decision. Thanks.

IMHO...ZIPP..I use them for everyday wheels

The Dura Ace wheels are likely to be more durable. Paul Lew consulted with Shimano on their rims, so they are similar to Reynolds rims, LEW rims....And of course the Dura Ace hubs will be better.
If you want the most aero, then Zipp. I'd pick the 404's for their every race useability.

I'm confused. You mention that the Dura Ace wheels are likely to be more durable and then state that you'd pick the 404's for their "...usability"I'm particularly interested in this thread as I'm considering the Shimano WH-7801Carbon 50's or the Zipp 404 (clinchers) - I realize that the Shimano's are tubulars. My focus is time trials and want a wheel set that can used for more than "special events".

Well, first, I don't know why but I was thinkin' 808 when I read 606. 606's will be more everyday useable than 404's. So when I said everyday useable, I meant within the Zipp choices.
Overall, I think the Dura Ace wheels will hold up better with every day use.

If the Reynolds Stratus were in the same ballpark price as the other 2 wheelsets they would be my choice. Thanks for the insight.
