descendants of John Bonham filed suit for the unauthorized performance.

The irony, of course, is that Page and Plant were sued and settled for
stealing that very song from Willie Dixon.

If they somehow manage to win this would likely kill off live
performances by cover bands.
Most musicians get their starts playing cover tunes. It's the breeding
ground for the entire industry.

And if they win, who would the award go to as it isn't even their
song, just their interpretation.

Apparently ASCAP filed the suit on behalf of LZ. I didn't realize a club is
supposed to obtain an ASCAP license (1500. in this case) to cover the rights
to perform live music. Still, in this case it's like a car thief complaining
that somebody stole the car he stole.

This just seems weird..I highly doubt Plant,Page,Bonham and Jones could give
a damn about the matter. Probably a record company thing that the Zep guys
could care less about. If you look at the liner notes of
Zep records..they give due to Dixon.
