Hi all,
Just wanted your oppinion on something - we've been trying to get people to vote on their fave cycling trips and regions and so far this is what we've got: Great Cycling Trips
But I feel like we must be missing hundreds. If you can help out with suggestions and vote on the order that they're in - so far Lake Minnewanka in Banff is winning?

My favorite bike trip occurred in 1997. There was nothing special about the route, it was a local multi-use trail that I had ridden on a hundred times before. The weather was good, clear and warm but nothing remarkable. It was early morning, just after daybreak. What made this my favorite was that it was the first time that I was riding with the lady that I love. It would have been special even if it had been pouring down rain. Although I still love cycling, no ride will ever equal the thrill that I felt that day with her:p .
Every time I cross the mountains it's a great trip.
Family bike trip along the Danube: Passau to Vienna along the Danube trail in seven days. Rental bikes for my wife and I, the two children in a large kiddie trailer.
Rode 3-4 hours a day at a leisurely pace, lots of ice cream and park stops. Splashing in the pool in the hotel in the afternoons.
Great way to bring together family and cycling.

Ironically, my favorite cycling trip was to your neck of the woods (...er, neck of the mountains, I mean). The wife & I took a cycling vacation to Tucson AZ last February and had five straight days of the best cycling we've ever experienced. Phenomenal roads, phenomenal weather, fantastic scenery, really friendly locals... We're planning to return every year.
A close second would be the Berkshires of western Massachussetts. We spent three or four days cycling up there this past Memorial Day Weekend and were astonished at how pristine the roads were and how courteous the drivers were. It was as if the laws of physics did not apply; it seemed effortless to ride longer & faster than normal up there.

Neck of the woods is okay. Didja know that there are more Ponderosa pine trees in Arizona than anywhere else in der world? Go figure.
