  1. well, we are just sorry by american, we believed so much in Floyd, what he
did in the mountains was just so incredible and nice, some people write
about the "ride of century", it was one thing that we have never seen
before, his manner of wining, climbing, Floyd was so different, and few
days after that his epopée we just discovered that Floyd was doped like
Ullrich, so it's very very sad. it was "too beautiful to be true", it's all
that we think now It will be difficult now to believe again in another
    american racers

  2. ah, mon ami ... vous have perhaps made a prejudge before the jury has
returned from the room? we are sorry you are sad .. we are sad in addition
.... but the Eiffel Tower will not fall down and there is still wine in the
cask. there have been floyds before him and there will be floyds after
him. one day, there may even be a french floyd and we will cheer him and
then find out that he doped like everyone else. alas, this is life in the
peleton for the time being. do not fall on your sword if you cannot believe
in another american racer .. for though we will miss you, we will still eat
    camembert cheese.

For the camembert I sugest you the "Camembert Fermier", but only in France
since he is baned in the USA.

Today morning the French athlet Nordine Gezzar was banned for to be positive
    (Nandrolone).
However it was un-noticed on CNN ; )

A friend of mine was visiting this week and asked the guy at the local
cheese shop for a camembert made from raw milk. He got a pained look on his
face and kindly explained that that's the only kind he seels. If she'd like
the other kind, she need look no further than the crocery store on the
    corner.

She took a round of his best camembert. It was heavenly. To think, I used to
    not like the stuff.

I'm in favor of food-safety regulations as a general rule,
but some of the US's specific rules about what cannot
be sold nor imported make the dope cops look like paragons
    of fairness and good sense.

In the midst of turmoil and crisis in the sporting world,
let's thank heavens that [censored] Pound is safely tucked away
at WADA where he can do limited harm. Imagine if he
headed the FDA or was European commissioner for
    agriculture.

TRG, have you tried Brillat-Savarin cheese? Oh dear. It's so rich I think I put on
a couple of pounds just thinking about it. It sure doesn't last long, but is it ever
    good.

Exactly. We can't get Iberian ham here, for instance. Shameful.

Thought it was specifically Iberico Hams, but for all I know, that may
mean Iberian. In this case, the proper department to blame is
Agriculture. FDA is part of HHS.

Of course, maybe its a double whammy - IF the Department of
Agriculture let them in, then the FDA wouldn't let you sell them. That
    would be about right...

I don't know how bad they are in the US.
One time, I went to the market in Paris in the morning, stocked up on
what the folks over there were craving, and went directly to the
airport, a briefcase and two plastic bags of goodies. I declared, for
customs, "groceries" and the value of the stuff, as on my store
receipt. Totally true. Made it through without an eye blinking.

You can get Serrano ham here in the US, but not Iberian (or Iberico). There are
several sub varieties of Iberico, btw. Here's a short piece on the differences
    between Serrano and Iberian:

Yep, that seems to be the way it is. [censored]! Anyway, as I recall, the USDA
doesn't like the hooves that the whole Iberian hams come with.

I considered doing that when I was there last year, but feared getting to the
first US airport and having a customs agent tell me I couldn't bring it in. I would
sit down and eat the whole damn ham on the spot if that happened. Maybe next time...
