  1. Just some memories that have made me realise "i ride my bike WAY too much!"

    1. Courier specific, but picking up the phone and responding with my courier mobile number instead of a "hello".

    2. When driving my car, reaching down to the console between the two front seats for my water bottle.

    3. When driving my car, reaching for my STI's or gear levers on the steering wheel when i want to change gear.

    4. Being in the inbetween state of being awake/asleep and falling out of bed becuase im riding my bike.

    any others??

  2. 1. When falling asleep, you close your eyes and you immediately see a road rolling along underneath you.

    2. Feeling tiredness/physical pain whenever going uphill - in a car.

    3. Walking awkwardly in normal shoes because you're not used to the absence of cleats.

  3. I did not know there was such a thing as riding to much.

  4. ...the absence of padding in your undies causes you to feel half-dressed;

    ...you blast your nostrils clear of snot instead of reaching for a tissue when you're in the house;

    ...you try and upgrade the spec on domestic items like your babies pram, e.g. fit Shimano brakes, change wheel rims to mini-Mavics;

    ...you don't leave the house without two spare inner tubes and your micro CO2 pump.

  5. When the only reason in the world to wake up at 5:25 AM and for first time of your life you’re consistent waking up early is to go out and ride before work.

    When all your best friends “casually” are bikers too.

    When your 4 years daughter do not like to kiss you when you get back from a ride “because you’re a little to hot”, but your boy says, “it doesn’t matters to me, I do like the smell of wet soil”

    When you feel lazy and overweighed if you don’t go out or rolls for two days in a row.

    I can go and go and go …

  6. Would I get made fun of if I wore my Camelbak Lobo around my house, out in public etc, even when I'm not on my bike? PFFT! It keeps water really cold 😄 i wear it to the library to study, out on walks, hikes, ridin' (of course), to the gym 😄

  7. HA the waking at 5am strikes a chord with me 😄

    Don't forget the checking your pulse for no reason when you're bored for a little moment, when others would normally fidget a pen or something..

    Watching some recreational cyclists roll by, and mentally cringing at the ultra low cadence they're pedalling at..

    Watching any cyclist roll by (when you're not on a bike) and feeling jealous!

    My friends always get a chuckle out of the Cannondale sticker (stars n' stripes and all) I have on my car .. which is made in France. 😉

  8. Probably more to do with being tech-obsessed than riding too much.....but being able to glance at a bike from across the street and know the complete specs of its drivetrain, frame, wheelset and so on probably means you need to stop reading the velo-[censored] so much.

    Checking out people's quads in the street. "Are they bigger than mine!?"

    Feeling homocidal when you see someone drop glass in the street.

    Reading Ordnance Survey maps instead of novels/magazines for fun.

  9. When riding in a car, you visualize what cadence and gears you'd be in if you were on your bike, how much lean to this corner, when to attack... so on.

  10. On second note, this is probably a result of riding too much as well.

    Last night, when Barnes and Noble closed, my friend and I rode arround the stip mall plotting a midnight crit that circled in front of the stores and arround behind.

  11. When all of your street clothes have sagging butts and knees and all of your street shoes have this tell-tale grove worn into the front part of the heel (those of you who wear street shoes to bike know what I mean) plus big scuff marks where you bring the pedal round to put it in place to take off (that manoever probably has some fancy cycling technical name, but I don't know it).

    When you see your friend's eyes glaze over and gradually roll back in their heads whenever you begin to fill them in on your latest cycling exploits (why don't they think it's important, too?).

    When you go to visit your Mom for two weeks and by the time you leave, there are no less than 5 bikes (of all different shapes and sizes) in the garage that used to hold nothing but a lonely Infinity.

  12. When driving, you find yourself drafting behind the semi instead of passing it like you used to.

    When you are driving in the car or walking through the store, and you find yourself yelling "RIDER!" when someone is nearby.

  14. Spend WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much on a hitch mount//hitch/adaptor/lock for your car cos your daughter complains that she hates being a passenger with her legs wrapped around her neck cos of that dammed bike in the back!!

  15. When you buy a Ford F-150 pick-up truck only to transport your bike without the need of a bike rack.

  16. You race walk people in the mall without realizing it

    You feel a wobble in your car and make a feeble attempt to true a wheel

    You sleep with a bottle of gatorade next to your bed

    You have a permanant chain tattoo on your right calf

    You avoid potholes as much as possible then you drive

    You find yourself always walking out of the house with a multi tool

    And my personal favorite.....your balls never stop hurting 😉

  17. When you recognize people by the bike they are riding, not their face.
    When you slow down in your car to admire someone else riding on the road and then proceed to tell your wife every detail about the type of bike the person was riding.
    When your neighbors make jokes about your cycling apparel, yet you don't care because you are totally comfortable with it.
    When you wash your bike clothes more than your work clothes.

  18. ... when you don't have a TV or DVD player and you buy one to watch a 4 hour 2003 Tour de France DVD...

    ...when this forum is your default home page in your browser...

    ...when you drive everywhere with your bike (and shoes, jersey, helmet, HRM, knicks) in the boot of your car just incase you have time for a quick ride...

    ...when you want a new bike (want, not need) and you explore the possibility of buying a bike shop...

    on a similar note for mountain bikers ... walking quickly through busy pedestrian traffic, darting in between people, plotting your next move like it's technical singletrack

  20. What are all these references to driving cars?

    If you spend 1 minute driving a car you don't have enough minutes left in the day to ride too much.
