Os pair présentant la forme d¹un S allongé en italique, s¹articulant en

Pathologies

€ Fracture résultant d¹une chute sur l¹épaule (suite à un accident
de vélo par exemple) située le plus souvent au tiers moyen de l¹os. Elle est
parfois à l¹origine de complications immédiates comme une ouverture de la
peau, une blessure d¹un vaisseau profond ou une lésion d¹un tissu nerveux de
voisinage, mais ceci est exceptionnel.

€ Fracture de la clavicule chez le nouveau-né après un accouchement
dystocique (difficile)

€ Luxation de la clavicule, essentiellement chez le sportif, se
situant au niveau de l¹articulation acromio-claviculaire (entre l¹acromion
et la clavicule). Ces luxations peuvent présenter divers degrés de gravité
allant de l¹entorse simple à la déchirure totale du ligament
acromio-claviculaire.

Traitement

Le traitement des fractures de la clavicule nécessite la pose d¹un bandage
en forme de 8 qui permet de maintenir les deux épaules mobiles. Ceci a pour
but de fixer solidement les deux extrémités de la fracture. Le traitement
orthopédique la fracture de la clavicule est rare. Les séquelles
susceptibles survenir sont un cal vicieux (qui ne respecte pas l¹anatomie de
l¹os) ou une pseudarthrose (impossibilité de consolidation de la fracture, à
l¹origine d¹une fausse articulation).
