I've read your other thread about your problem with flats, and this may be a patronising question but here goes anyway: I assume you're using rim tape? A "complex" hole in the tube, right above a spoke, suggests that either you aren't using rim tape or that it isn't doing its job properly.

Yes there is rim tape, but it may not be doing its job. The blow out also blew a hole in the rim tape. So I may be getting some new rim tape tonight at the LBS.

Ah-ha, there's your answer. Sounds like the rim tape gave way and let the tube through, which promptly blew out. Unless you're unlucky enough to have some other, unrelated, problems with the wheel/tyre/tube, new rim tape ought to sort it out.

I am hoping so. I have had 3 other flats (maybe more, I might be losing count) on this front tire. All but 1 are unrelated and I know what the cause was.

Flat # 1: Track pump got stuck and I pulled too hard. The stem came off the tube, my fault

Flat # 2: Unknown, I never did find the cause of this one. Big mistake, I am learning that you should always find the cause.

Flat #3: very tiny thorn in Tire, may have been cause of flat #2 as well but went on 3 rides between flats #2 and #3

Flat #4: is the on described in my first post in this thread. A rim side blow out, possibley caused by bad/weak rim tape.

THe silver lining in all this? I am learning ALOT about flat tires.
