  1. My membership didn't get renewed despite me completing the form with my
bank details. What a load of rubbish. Probably will not bother now.
They really should make it easy for people to become members, shouldn't
have to wait 3 months, make two phone calls to find out I am not a
member, this despite being sent two membership cards with expiry of
    2006 !!!!

That might be why I have had mine renewed twice this month.
They have only charged me once, though; so far...

S'odd innit. You'd think they'd want the money - and contact you if
they had problems processing the bank details/wrong numbers etc. The
last renewal notice I had was strange 'cos it had the card pre-printed
but the latter with the card said it was not valid until they received
payment. I thought thatw as a daft way of doign it, as it could be very
confusing if you simply forgot, and a few weeks later found the card
with your number on and assumed you'd paid up and were a member. Daft.
I'm not very impressed with the magazine of late either. It's trying to
be all things to all cyclists rather than aiming at a specific target
market, and consequently appeals to no-one in particular.

I applied to join 3 months ago - they took the 30 quid the next day.
    Since then nothing.

That's what happened to me a few years ago. Despite emails and phone
calls I never got anything for my money. I'm not going to try again in
a hurry. Either they're pirates or unbelievably incompetent.

Too late for me I'm afraid, the horse has bolted. Maybe some time in
the future I'll feel more forgiving but right now I have better things
to spend my time and money on.

It's like déjà vu, all over again...

FWIW I am a CTC 'Lifer' so won't lose my membership just yet.

couple of days. We'll see.Don't think I will be renewing after five years if
    things don't improve.

Took 7 days to reply to e-mail.

    Any complaints:

    perhaps something will be done.

Shame. The announcement of the new membership company was in the
current Cycle, so I am pretty sure you were dealing with the old lot.

  11. Three Months !!!! You are very patient. They had my money on the 7th
September since then nothing, not even a thanks. The (eventual) reply
to my email told me my membership number but I have had nothing popping
through the letterbox. I guess I will have to put that money down to
experience, olbviously the CTC (Cash To the Cowboys) is being run on a
pure profit basis and who cares about the disgruntled paying members.

Wonder if the BBC would be interested......

I believe I received the last copy of Cycle but the none arrival the
most recent one that came out last week spurred me into action to
    investigate.

    Hee hee.

I sent an email to Peter Jackson at CTC and he has relied with an
apology, explaining that I may soon recieve a letter offering me 15
months membership for the price of 12 as recompense for being messed
    around. We'll see.
