  1. Thanks for all the input everyone.

If it clears it up any, I'm not what many people would consider "ugly." Although my social skills arent always at peak (very shy most times), I probably couldnt find many girls who don't like the way I look. Our school is very closed off as far as relationships go though so thats never really an issue (which may be a good thing in the long run).

If anything, I'll use it as a benchmark. People who just can't accept people (especially ones they've been friends with for a long time) dont deserve them in the first place.

My school only has like 500 people in it (grades 9-12).. so whatever. I'm sure im in good shape.

I really don't know what to say to the people who dont think its for men (which may or may not be the case). I think whatever works best is right.

  2. Get them riding bud, they'll change their views. Some ladies appreciate a little assistance up a hill if they're struggling.

Just don't become a pretentious snob who looks down on any less focussed riders, whether they are "freds" or not. They could be sitting behind the wheel of a car instead, lining you up.

  3. I was a swimmer in high school and shaved then. Most didn't have a problem, those that did usually came around after a brief explanation. Having been in at least a dozen crashes over the years (with and without hair) clean shaven is the way to go.

  4. Oh, come on fellas .. what are we "men or mice"? .. who gives a [censored] what anybody else thinks about your smooth pins .. you think when Lance peels off his spandex he's looking over his shoulder saying .. "do they think I'm a girlie boy?" .. I'd like to see them try! Personally I don't mind either or it's kinda sexy - you can see those ripling muscles pumping (& that's just the ladies)! & what the hell is NORMAL anyway and do I want someone telling me what they think is? I wizzed off most of my hair once just because and you wouldn't believe the comments I got for that one .. I am more than a head of hair .. so go shave guys and be proud!

    At A GUY!!!!!

look, I'm 30, don't feel or act it but still had those awful years behind me being a female swimmer/cyclist/netball goal attack/hockey player let alone tennis and athletics etc...... I really do know what you are feeling right now. Back then I was considered 'odd' but now as I have had serious relationships obviously(- due to my age...ack to mention the big 30, lol!) my upper half and then thighs with my stance/composure (and damn fine collar bones) have been praised much to my initial inability to accept those same complements)!!!!!

I'm so proud of you and glad that this forum has been able to help in building your confidence up. How about also reading any postings on the 'girlz' sites? Then you will see!

You keep on going from strength mentally to strength physically no matter what. You knew your own answer deep down but I would like to hope that we have collectively pushed it on its way. (who said slip streaming gains penalty points ?!!!)

Learn to laugh and hold yourself tall. You have what so many don't hence them taking the mickey (Limey talk) but never forget, those that make fun are actually jealous!

Keep in touch? That would be nice ๐Ÿ™‚

Around on pm or email....... really grinning for you and wanting you the best and I sincerely mean it.

SEE? Susan said it herself!!!!!! And she is not one to mince her words! 2 girlie votes in a male dominated forum (of the ones that post that is)!

Just laugh some more.....that endorphin factor is incredible on/off the bike no matter what!

Gotta give the 'Micky B grin'.....patent in process btw, lol... *Michael Boogerd.....how much does this look like that smile of his God Bless Him!!!!!*

  7. B.T.W....it may have needed a pm to express this but n.w.......it is here now and quite valid I think?

it may be just me who says it but your online name has some real serious connontations for your future reference..... If I am giving away too much then so be it and for the rest of you just carry on and feel that you think you know but the way your initials et al add up to something more!

I don't think you would know considering your worried initial post but stand tall again (I would say that would be a great thing...but some may see those initals together and add you to the gimp gallery which you so arn't!-or maybe I'm wrong...it hasn't been nor will be the first or last!)

Take good care on the Web! A lot as most of us all have found out that it can be not as it appears ๐Ÿ™

Smiles again at maybe revealing some more than I would have ever given but only did so for yourself ๐Ÿ˜‰

...... and btw, there is no need for anyone to discuss why/how/whichever way I registered those letters btw!

    As ever

My hubby is lucky because some of his family genetically is just not that hairy. So no one notices on him. they think he is one of the ones with 'no hair on the legs' all natural like.

I like it. so smooooooth. ๐Ÿ™‚ plus
wow you can see all his muscles better without the hair there.

  9. I'm 16 and have lots of "girl friends" and all chicks find it really weird but once you explain that you race ect. Than they seem to understand but they all want me to get them waxed so i better or else. But yeah chicks love it even young ones as long as they know why you do it it's all good otherwise they think it's just weird. Have fun shaving.๐Ÿ˜‰

June....could I suggest you go to the soap box and put your thoughts as a woman down on a girlz site which was started by Saucy?

So many women are registered yet don't contribute to what is essentially a 'male forum' and despite us giggling; having a stupid laugh to then voicing serious opinions on our views re male pro cycling/cycling in general does not make us less the while. We just don't have that testosterone!

Oh, and guys, if you read this then PLEASE send your g/f's here. It is a real potential site thanks to Saucy in a place where essentially we are out numbered but not due to knowledge. In fact, I think Saucy has created a thread that could be worth both sexes writing in as it wouldn't be serious all the time (we can make light hearted jokes you know but still be more than knowlegable) yet pass on all opinions?

    How's that sound?

  11. Remember one thing, too -- cyclists have great calves. Your naked calves are likley to be the envy of even the hairriest legged out there. Besides, it's a conversation starter and lends you some credibility (how many dorks in t-shirts riding around on their MTB have such shapley, shorn legs?!).

Besides, cycling is a lifestyle choice. A chick who can't get past your legs isn't worth your time anyway.

    Shave away!

    so true. !! so true!!!
well said. and if the chick happens to BE worth it. ...you can just grow it BACK! haha
Not true with my armpit hair. Is it true that european women don't shave that?? Why dont atheletic men shave their armpit hair?? it would cut down on smell and make it easier to apply deodarants.

    hmmm.
    well.
I think the best thing about the hubby shaving his legs is that he doenst get irritated anymore when I use HIS razor !!! haha. he has two now, one for legs and one 'no don't touch' for his smoochy face. ๐Ÿ™‚
