Well, I've been through a year of lowcarbing now, and really don't feel like stopping anytime soon. I've so far dropped more than 80 pounds, lost more than a third of my circumference, and I certainly feel a lot better and fitter (I've even taken up bike-riding again after several years of busses). All that without going hungry or feeling much restricted in my food choices.
Of course there have been both ups and downs, but nothing dramatic enough to discourage me from continuing my weight-loss. Through it all alt.support.diet.low-carb has been a (mostly) great forum, so thank you all, I will definitely continue reading this group (with the appropriate filters applied of course...).
For those interested I've updated my page with a new photo.

Very nice!! You have really embraced the lifestyle and are doing so well, congratulations! -- Sherry 364/310/195 http://lowcarb.owly.net
Great progress. I like your graph, though I have trouble relating to kilograms.
Your graph shows the kind of spikes that mine does at times, and also the overall trend. It underscores the need to ignore day-by-day readings, and only look at longer term trends over weeks.
Do you do any calorie counting?

Way to go. Shaving makes a difference in your picture too. I speak from experience.

I started doing it a couple of months or so ago (except for the past two weeks - for various reasons they've been a bit too stressful). I try to keep below 1500 a day.

Stefan, I'm so happy for you! You should be VERY proud of yourself -- your photos of progress are quite dramatic and you look GREAT! Sounds like you FEEL great, too!
Congratulations on 1 year and 80 pounds!!! I viewed your pics and you are looking great 🙂
