S'quite amusing - the biggest thing I've seen the lords doing recently is
repeatedly rejecting compulsory ID cards, yet here comes one who wants

Evenin', yer tory lordship. This cyclist has never asked for any such
thing. This cyclist will certainly not wear a registration number on
his clothing or anywhere else, so go to it and deal with whatever clown
suggested it by all means, but please don't misrepresent this cyclist as
intimidated or seeking separation from road vehicles (of which this
cyclist, when mounted on cycle, is one).

ITTM *one* lord, as referenced in the thread "Alan Howarth" above. FFS
indeed - if Yahoo starts reporting as news every individual opinion of

Eh? Quite apart from the small matter that this cyclist never asked for
any such thing, my bike /is/ a road vehicle. So I as a cyclist would
have to travel in the cycle lane while my bike stayed on the road. I'd
like to know how I'm supposed to manage that.

So long as all pedestrians, including toddlers, dogs, cats, and children on
child-tricycles also have to wear a number plate, I'd love to see his
Highnarse's plan put into reality.

May be jewish ones could wear a yellow star shaped ID plate too?

I have written to him. He used to teach at the school I was at. He
seemed fairly sensible then. Will let you know if you get a reply.

He's reported as strongly in favour of ID cards too. Obviously no
believer in personal freedom.

It was on PM last night and they ran it again tonight as an excuse to
air the usual lycra lout bashing loony listener phone calls and e-mails.
On listen again and web page
