I dont know why everyone is so hateful. It was a simple,
legitimate question. If you dont have any helpful advice
then dont say anything. The only reason I had this question
was because I had this test done before a while back and
they only took one x-ray at the end of 3 days. During this
test, they want to do one every day for 5 days. Then they
might want to do an abdominal ct scan. This seems like alot
of x-ray exposure.

I have a question for you.. what are the physicians, nurses
and technicians who are involved in your care.. your
fathers care.. your cousins's best friend's goldfish's
care.. what are all these people telling you? I havent seen
ANY indication yet from you concerning what these people
have told you.

Your FIRST, and probably most APPROPRIATE source of
information should be the practioners who are providing or
recommending the procedures.

If you dont trust or dont believe them.. then dont get the
procedures.. or have them explain it adequately to your
liking. Or get a second opinion IN PERSON from another
practicioner.

I find it troubling that you are appearing to use USENET as
a primary source of information to the percieved exclusion
of the involved medical professionals.

As for the last question.. can the X-rays hurt you.. well..
in BLACK and WHITE. Sure. Xray exposure is a cumulative
thing. The more you have.. the greater chance there is for
problems related to that radiation exposure.

Now.. break it into shades of grey, and you are talking
about a color that is more "off-white". Over a lifetime, you
are probably never going to manifest a problem as a result
of this. Sheilding of the gonads, and maybe the thyroid,
will drop that minimal risk even further.

So.. there you have it. Xrays can hurt you. SO can drinking
too much water.. so can walking down the street.. so can
breathing the typical city air.

I HIGHLY recommend you deal with the medical professionals
who are providing your care, and not rely on usenet as much
as a method of allaying fears. How you pose your questions
also determines some of the response you are getting.

Asking "is this normal", "can this hurt me", "is this
dangerous" all can be taken to portray obsession with danger
or bad outcomes. A better way to look at the xray issue is..
"what are the risks associated with this much radiation
exposure".. the answer, in short, is "minimal".

ordering this procedure, rather than to whomever might
willingly respond on-line.

simple answer is likely that you have been so rude for so
long and shown so little regard to less abrasive social
